A flash flood watch is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Anguilla until 12 midday tomorrow, Sunday, 30th August 2026.

Synopsis

An area of disturbed weather associated with the remnants of tropical storm Dolly is forecast to bring heavy rainfall to the area later tonight and into Sunday.

Rainfall accumulation of 2 to 5 inches is possible, with locally higher amounts possible in a short duration, which could increase the risk of flooding.

Potential impacts

Flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas; dangerous driving conditions caused by rapid inundation of major roadways; increased potential for road accidents caused by low visibilities

Instructions

• Review your flash flood safety plan.

• Be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding rains develop or a flash flood warning is issued.

• Closely monitor weather reports from the Met Office, as this watch could be upgraded to a warning at short notice

• Follow instructions from your local disaster authorities.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the weather situation and will publish updates when required.
