Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH): At the recently concluded Caribbean Climate Outlook Forum (CariCOF) in Grenada, Trisha Miller of the Grenada Meteorological Service delivered a stark warning about the 2025 wet and hurricane season.
She highlighted a high to extremely high risk of flash floods, particularly in Grenada, the Guianas, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, and parts of the Antilles.

Frequent wet spells and intense rainfall events may result in flooding, landslides, and other cascading hazards through November.
Additionally, warmer sea temperatures could lead to marine heatwaves and coral bleaching starting in August, posing serious threats to marine ecosystems.

This forecast signals heightened environmental and agricultural risks, including water contamination, crop losses, and pest outbreaks.
These insights form part of the regional guidance shared at #CariCOF2025, which was supported by the Intra-ACP Climsa Programme in partnership with EU to Barbados, Eastern Caribbean States, the OECS, Caricom & Cariforum.
