STATE MEDIA: As part of the response to the pharmaceutical recall notice issued by the Department of Pharmaceutical Services, Ministry of Health, on August 17, 2026, the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) reviewed its pharmacy records and confirmed that two of the recalled lots of Atorvastatin may have been dispensed to beneficiaries during June 2026:

(i) Atorvastatin 10 mg tablets, Lot number 129702, Expiry date 04/2028

(ii) Atorvastatin 20 mg tablets, Lot number 128946, Expiry date 12/2027.

WHAT BENEFICIARIES NEED TO KNOW AND DO

If you received Atorvastatin from an MBS pharmacy, please check the lot number on the medication packaging. Only the two Atorvastatin lots listed above are affected; other lots of Atorvastatin dispensed by MBS pharmacies are not included in the recall.

If the lot number matches either of those listed above, please return the medication to the MBS Nevis Street Pharmacy on or before Saturday 22 August 2026, where it will be replaced.

Beneficiaries returning the affected medication(s) on Saturday 22 August may visit the pharmacy between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

The affected lots of Diovan 160 mg tablets and Cetirizine Hydrochloride 5 mg tablets were not dispensed by MBS pharmacies.

If you received any of the recalled medicines from another pharmacy, please return the medication to the pharmacy where it was purchased.

Beneficiaries should not discontinue any prescribed medication without first consulting a medical doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
