Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force: The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) and other agencies, conducted a nationwide tsunami preparedness exercise on the 20th March 2025.
The simulation tested the coordination of emergency response teams in the event of a tsunami, focusing on evacuation, rescue operations, and aid distribution.
The exercise also assessed communication systems and public awareness of tsunami safety measures. Citizens were reminded of evacuation protocols, and the effectiveness of response strategies was evaluated.
This exercise highlights NODS’ ongoing commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety of Antigua and Barbuda’s citizens.
