Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA): The Electricity Business Unit sincerely apologises to our valued customers for the unplanned outage that affected the entire network at 3:13 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The outage was caused by damage to the sky wire on the 69kV transmission line at the Lavington Substation.

This activated our system protection immediately, which isolated the fault to prevent extensive damage to the grid. Resulting in a temporary loss of power.

Our team of technicians immediately assessed the situation and began restoration efforts at 4:25 AM. Power was fully restored by 6:01 AM.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding.
