Dale C. S. Destin: Published 03 January 2025–2024 defied its droughtful ending to emerge as a wetter-than-normal year for Antigua.

In fact, based on preliminary data, it was the wettest year since 2011, with the island-average rainfall totalling 1361.9 mm (53.62 in), making it the 20th wettest year on record dating back to 1928 and the 31st since 1871.

This noteworthy rainfall performance aligned with forecasts issued throughout the year by 268Weather, demonstrating the reliability of our predictions.
Our April 2024 forecast hit the mark most accurately, predicting 1397 mm (55 in) of rainfall with a 70 percent (%) confidence range between 1118 and 1778 mm (44 to 70 in).

As the year progressed, confidence in above-normal rainfall climbed to 90% by August.
