The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries, and the Blue Economy has issued the following press release for all registrants, importers, brokers, and stakeholders.

Additionally, please take note of the following licensing and compliance requirements under the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Act, 2008:

1. Import Licence
All pesticides and toxic chemicals being imported into Antigua and Barbuda must receive prior approval through an Import Licence application.

2. General Licence
A General Licence is required to engage in any non-sale activity involving a controlled product.

3. Dealer’s Licence
A Dealer’s Licence is required to sell or offer for sale any controlled product in marketable quantities.

4. Pest Control Operator’s Licence
A Pest Control Operator’s Licence is required to legally and properly perform the functions of a pest control operator involving any controlled product.

Manufacturer’s Licence
A Manufacturer’s Licence is required to manufacture a controlled product. This includes repackaging and/or reformulating the product.

• Asbestos: 25:24
• Inorganic Chemicals: 28:01–28:53
• Organic Chemicals: 29:01–29:35
• Fertilizers: 31:01–31:05
• Paint and Paint Products: 32:08–32:12
• Cleaners and Detergents: 34:02
• Lubricating Preparations: 34:03
• Miscellaneous Chemical Products: 38:01–38:24

Registrants, importers, brokers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to ensure that all applicable licences and approvals are obtained before importing, selling, using, manufacturing, repackaging, or reformulating controlled products.
