Services have been restored at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) Laboratory after a minor chemical spill which took place around 7:30am today (March 16).

Our priority is always the safety of our patients and staff. In spite of our best efforts, spills happen. However, when they do, our task is to respond to them as carefully and efficiently as possible.

We would like to thank our team and our patients and families for their understanding and cooperation and reassure the public that it’s safe to return to our lab.

Normal outpatient services will resume on Monday March 20.

*PLEASE NOTE: ONLY sample drop-offs and the collection of results will be facilitated tomorrow, Friday March 17. ALL other outpatient services will resume on Monday March 20.
