The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) wishes to inform the public that an increased presence of military personnel, including visiting foreign troops, may be observed throughout Antigua and Barbuda in the coming days.
This increased presence is in support of ongoing military exercises and security operations being conducted in preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026.
Members of the public may observe military personnel, military vehicles and other operational activity in various locations as preparations and exercises continue.
These activities form part of the coordinated efforts to support national security and ensure the safety of visiting delegations and the wider public during CHOGM.
The ABDF appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as these activities are carried out. Residents are encouraged to remain calm, follow any instructions issued by authorised personnel, and exercise patience where temporary disruptions or movement restrictions may occur.
The ABDF remains committed to working alongside its regional and international partners to support a safe and secure CHOGM 2026.
