Central Board of Health (CBH): On September 30, staff from the Ministry of Health, Central Board of Health (CBH), and Medical Division participated in a Fire Safety Training and Drill held at the Environment Division Conference Room.

The training covered essential fire safety topics, including fire hazards, fire prevention, alarm systems, evacuation routes, and emergency role assignments. The session also emphasized the importance of being prepared and knowing how to respond quickly and safely in the event of a fire.

During the practical session, the lessons taught in the classroom were reinforced through hands-on activities, with particular focus on the proper use of a fire extinguisher using the PASS method — Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep.

The training was highly informative, engaging, and practical, providing participants with valuable knowledge and skills that can help protect lives, property, and the workplace.

Special thanks to Dr. Johnson and her team for organizing this important training and to Sergeant Henry and her team from the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Services for delivering such an informative, engaging, and practical session.

We also acknowledge the participation of staff from the CBH Vector Control Unit, Nurses’ Aides and other staff from the Medical Division. Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. Preparation today can save lives tomorrow!
