TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION STATEMENT
ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE

Tropical Storm Dolly has dissipated, and the wind risk to the islands is very low; no action required. The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service is following the progress of the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly.

The system dissipated this morning back to a tropical wave sooner than forecast. Based on the best available forecast models, Dolly is unlikely to reform.

The remnants of the system are expected to cause inclement weather across the area over the weekend. In the reasonable worst-case scenario, the wave from Dolly could cause storm-force gusts.

At this time, the risk to life and property from wind and rainfall impacts is very low; no action is required; the risk from wave impacts is moderate; be aware.

Residents of the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands should monitor this system. To be safe, everyone is reminded to remain prepared for the remainder of the hurricane season.

At 11 am ect or 1500 UTC, the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly were centred about 800 miles east-southeast of Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the Leeward Islands, moving west at around 25 MPH.

The maximum sustained winds are still near 40 mph; however, weakening is forecast tomorrow, well before it reaches the islands. On the forecast track, this system is forecast to be near the Leeward Islands this Saturday/Sunday and the British Virgin islands Sunday/Monday, as a tropical wave.

Please note that there are no tropical cyclone alerts, watches or warnings in effect for the area, at this time. The next update will be around 2 pm tomorrow, or sooner if required.
