FLASH FLOOD WATCH
ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES
4:00 PM ECT TUE, MAY 6, 2025

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, until 12 noon tomorrow, Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

A flash flood watch means that moderate to major flooding is possible but not imminent in the watch area.

Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should make preparations to safeguard life and property by moving to higher ground if flooding rains develop or a flash flood warning is issued.

A trough over the Leeward Islands is creating unstable conditions over the area, this, along with favourable conditions which are forecast to develop in the upper atmosphere, could further enhance the potential for heavier showers into early tomorrow, which could lead to flooding in some areas.

This watch could be upgraded to a warning at short notice.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the weather situation. Please stay tuned to local radio or television for watch updates and possible warnings.
