A flash flood advisory is in effect for low lying and flood prone areas in the northern and western portions of Antigua until 3 pm today.

A flood advisory means that streams, creeks and drains may be elevated or even overflow into streets, and causing flooding in low lying and flood prone areas; however, property damage will be minimal.

Daytime heating along with light winds and available moisture are affecting the island at this time is contributing to localized cloud build-ups in the northern and western portions of Antigua where moderate to heavy rainfall is occurring.

Antigua and Barbuda meteorological services will continue to monitor the situation. Please call 463-4638 for later statements. Also, stay tuned to local radio and tv stations for the latest information.
