The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of Antigua & Barbuda’s 1st National Climate Outlook Forum!

Launched by the Honourable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, experts and stakeholders from across the twin isle have come together to support climate resilience and sustainable development in sectors of critical socioeconomic significance including the water, health, fisheries, agriculture and food security, and tourism sectors ahead of what is predicted to be an active 2024 Wet and Atlantic Hurricane Season.

CIMH partnered with the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service as it engaged with stakeholders to address the climate challenges facing Antigua & Barbuda.

Throughout the day, stakeholders deepened their understanding of climate impacts and explored innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of Antigua and Barbuda.

The knowledge gained and the connections made will play a crucial role towards the development of Antigua and Barbuda’s National Framework for Climate Services.

The event concluded with remarks by Mr. Dale Destin, Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service.

Mr. Destin expressed gratitude to the CIMH and the European Union funded Intra-ACP Climsa Caribbean Programme for supporting this important climate resilience initiative.
