The organizers of the annual international kite festival have taken a safety-first approach to ensure that patrons stay within the safe zones at Devil’s Bridge during the high-flying event.

CP Kites, the organizers of the highly anticipated Easter event has secured the perimeter of the area with a temporary fence. They have also taken safety a step further with the addition of two lifeguards for the duration of the event.

The fun-filled family event which is in its 18th year, attracts scores of residents and visitors as they make their way to the historic Devil’s Bridge. Various types, sizes and colours of kites are flown in unison for the amusement and entertainment of adults and children alike.

The Kite Festival takes place on Monday, 10th April 2023 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m with an admission fee of adults $10 and children under 12 years free.

On Saturday 8th, April 2023 a body was found floating in the waters around Devil’s Bridge. The unfortunate incident which was later ruled by law enforcement to be a case of drowning may have prompted organizers to take extra precautionary measures to safeguard those in attendance.
