Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) – The MVO has recently acquired additional temperature loggers and probes to expand its in-situ monitoring of low-temperature (<100 °C) fumaroles and other thermal features close to the lava dome.

The new data loggers will permit up to 5 additional sites in total to be monitored.

The data will provide crucial background information on the temperature trends of the fumaroles and other thermal areas, allowing MVO to identify any variations that may indicate a change in the state of the volcano.
