National Office of Disaster Services (NODS): – Eight media houses were represented at a half-day workshop on Tuesday 8th November 2022 on “Better Understanding Weather Forecasting”, facilitated by Director of the Meteorological Office Dale Destin.

The session focused on “What is Meteorology”, “Media Alerts”, and Understanding the Weather Terms.

Some of the discussion points were the need to include relevant information for Barbuda in weather forecasting, additional human resources and the modernization of the Met Office so that the public can have greater access to information.

The workshop was hosted by NODS and funded by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
