ABS Television: There are expectations of relief from drought conditions later this year, but this may not be enough to compensate for significant deficits in past months.

That’s the view of Adrian Trotman, chief of applied meteorology and climatology and head of the Caribbean Regional Climate Centre at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology in Barbados.

He also warns that the long-term projections are for increasingly drier conditions towards the end of this century as a result of climate change. He, therefore, calls for monitoring and conservation of water resources.
