At 2:00 PM EDT (1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Alex was located near latitude 30.8 North, longitude 72.5 West.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Bermuda.

Alex is moving toward the east-northeast near 23 mph (37 km/h). A fast motion toward the east-northeast is expected through Monday, followed by an eastward motion at a slower forward speed on Tuesday.

On the forecast track, the tropical storm is expected to pass near or just north of Bermuda on Monday.

Reports from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds are now near 65 mph (105 km/h) with higher gusts. 

Little change in strength is expected through tonight.  After that, Alex is forecast to weaken, and the system is expected to become an extratropical low on Tuesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 km) from the center mainly to the east of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure based on the Hurricane Hunter aircraft data is 991 mb (29.28 inches).
