The police are continuing their investigations into the suspected drowning of 50-year-old Wendel Joseph of Skerrit’s Pasture. Joseph reportedly went for a swim at Fort James Beach, along with a female companion around 6:30 pm on Wednesday 6th April.

It was further reported that they were about to leave when the deceased returned to the water and disappeared. Help was sought from a passerby in the area, and his body was later found floating face down and was pulled ashore.

Efforts were made to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead by a medical doctor around 9:05 pm.
