Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service (ABMS): The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two tropical waves over the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.

System 1 – Central Tropical Atlantic

• Located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

• Little to no development is expected over the next 48 hours.

• A 20% chance of tropical cyclone formation exists over the next 7 days as it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic.

System 2 – Eastern Tropical Atlantic

• A tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the west coast of Africa on Tuesday.

• Environmental conditions may gradually become more favorable, and a tropical depression could form during the second half of next week as it tracks westward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.

At this time, there are no immediate threats to Antigua and Barbuda. The ABMS will continue to closely monitor all tropical systems and provide timely updates as needed. Stay informed. Stay prepared.
