STRATCOM, St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, July 25, 2026: The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to intensify its proactive crime-fighting efforts through a series of coordinated operations aimed at disrupting criminal activity, recovering illegal weapons, and enhancing public safety across the country.

Over the past two days, officers attached to the CID Task Force, the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU), the K-9 Unit, the Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit (FERU), and other departments conducted several targeted operations, including search warrants, mobile patrols, vehicle checkpoints, and intelligence-led exercises in various communities.

During one operation in Collins, officers recovered an unlicensed firearm along with several rounds of matching ammunition.

Several other items were seized, including a Colombian passport and a cellular phone, as part of the ongoing investigation. Two individuals were arrested on suspicion of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition.

Additional search warrants were carried out in East Bus Station, Cashew Hill, and Golden Grove. One individual was subsequently arrested, while several items were seized, as a result of ongoing investigations.

The Police Administration wishes to remind the public that these heightened operational measures are not limited to the Carnival season.

Increased patrols, intelligence-led operations, stop-and-search exercises, and the execution of search warrants will continue well beyond the festive period as part of the organization’s long-term strategy to combat crime and strengthen public safety throughout Antigua and Barbuda.

The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police without delay.
