The CHOGM National Security Planning Committee extends its sincere appreciation to the general public for its patience, cooperation, and support during the successful completion of the first phase of Exercise STRONGHOLD.

The exercise commenced at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, and focused on the city area surrounding the Antigua and Barbuda National Performing Arts Centre (formerly the Deluxe Cinema). The operation concluded successfully, with the full participation of Security Forces, and other key agencies.

The Committee is encouraged by the level of public cooperation demonstrated throughout the exercise, which contributed significantly to its success.

As preparations continue for the hosting of CHOGM 2026, the CHOGM National Security Planning Committee is requesting the continued support and cooperation of the public during the third phase of Exercise STRONGHOLD, scheduled for Friday, 10 July 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Members of the public are reminded to comply with all instructions issued by police officers and other authorized personnel, and to avoid entering the designated security zone unless authorized to do so.

The Committee thanks the public once again for its understanding and cooperation as Antigua and Barbuda continues its preparations to safely and successfully host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
