The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard ABDFCG) recovered the body of an 18-year-old female at Devil’s Bridge at approximately 7:00 am on Sunday, 21st June 2026.

Initial reports indicate that the deceased entered the water at approximately 9:00 pm on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 and did not resurface. The Coast Guard responded and commenced Search and Rescue operations; however, due to poor visibility and deteriorating sea conditions, the search was suspended and resumed the following morning.

The search resumed this morning, when the Coast Guard Dive Team found and recovered the deceased. Her body was transported to Coast Guard Headquarters at Deep Water Harbour, where the district doctor pronounced her dead at approximately 7:55 am.

The ABDF Coast Guard extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and wishes them strength and comfort during this difficult time.
