Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF): The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), in collaboration with Airborne Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Technology (AIRT), conducted a four-day Drone Training Exercise at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium from May 26-29, 2026.

The training brought together personnel from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB), the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Department, and the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) to strengthen their skills in drone operations for emergency response, disaster management, and search and rescue activities.

Participants received both theoretical and practical instruction in drone deployment, aerial assessment, mission planning, and data collection. The exercise highlighted the growing importance of drone technology in improving situational awareness and supporting decision-making during emergencies.

The initiative reflects NODS’ commitment to enhancing national preparedness through innovation, interagency collaboration, and the adoption of modern technologies for disaster response.
