The APUA Water Business Unit, in collaboration with overseas technical specialists, will be conducting an overnight underground scanning exercise along sections of High Street and St. Mary’s Street from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

The exercise will involve the use of specialized equipment to scan beneath the road surface and identify underground utilities and conditions ahead of planned infrastructure works.

This activity forms part of APUA’s preparation for the introduction of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), an innovative trenchless technology that will be used for pipeline rehabilitation and installation in selected areas, reducing the need for extensive road excavation.

Motorists are kindly asked not to park on the southern side of High Street and St. Mary’s Street during the exercise to allow crews and equipment to operate safely and efficiently.
