A FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT for the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Valid from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM today.
A Flash Flood Watch means that moderate to major flooding is possible, but not imminent in the watch area. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should:
• Make preparations now to safeguard life and property
• Be ready to move to higher ground if flooding rains develop
• Act immediately if a Flash Flood Warning is issued

Weather Situation:
A frontal trough approaching the islands is producing periodic light to moderate rain with occasional heavier downpours.

Rainfall Update:
• Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen in the last 12 hours
• An additional 2 to 4 inches or more is possible in the next 12 hours

Moderate to major flooding of low-lying and flood-prone areas is therefore possible. The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services will continue to closely monitor this situation.
Please stay tuned to local radio and television for updates and possible warnings.
