Dale C. S. Destin – Published 23 December 2025 | Marine conditions around Antigua and Barbuda are currently moderate, with swells of 2–4 feet mainly from the east. Forecast guidance indicates that conditions will change beginning mid-week.

Increasing Swell Forecast – Swells are expected to build on Wednesday, reaching 6–10 feet, with occasional higher seas possible through the weekend. The swells will mainly come from the north. The peak of this swell episode is likely Wednesday night into Thursday.

While swells generally pose limited concern for mariners in open waters, the primary impacts will be nearshore and along exposed coastlines, where incoming swell energy can result in:

- Larger and more powerful breaking waves
- Dangerous rip currents
- High surf along exposed beaches
- Challenging conditions for small craft operating close to shore, reefs, and harbour entrances
