STATE MEDIA: Police are now probing the death of a 23-year-old man during a reported freak accident on the afternoon of Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The man, who is from the Dominican Republic, was working on a farm in an area called ‘Blackout’ along Dam Road when the tragedy unfolded.

He was reportedly on a building on the farm about 4:30 when he fell through the roof and sustained severe head injuries.

The Emergency Medical Services responded and found the man in a pool of blood. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, Marina Walker and Mekile Tonkinson are being commended for going beyond the call of duty in trying to resuscitate the man.

Doctors at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre continued the effort, but he was later pronounced dead.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the Hispanic community, many of whom gathered at the hospital Saturday evening.
