As Antigua and Barbuda makes preparations to host two major international events; Exercise Tradewinds 2026 and the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) has been actively engaged in critical planning sessions with local, regional, and international partners.

From September 23rd–25th, 2025, stakeholders convened at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium for a series of strategic meetings aimed at ensuring seamless coordination, strong partnerships, and a unified approach toward the months ahead.

Exercise Tradewinds, scheduled for June 3rd–17th, 2026, is a multinational security and disaster response exercise involving Caribbean nations and international allies.
It is designed to strengthen regional security, enhance humanitarian response capabilities, and improve interoperability among participating forces.

CHOGM 2026, set for November 1st–4th, 2026, will bring leaders from across the Commonwealth to Antigua and Barbuda, marking a historic occasion for our twin-island nation.
The ABDF remains committed to ensuring that both events are executed at the highest standard, working closely with partners to guarantee success and showcase Antigua and Barbuda’s readiness on the global stage. Teamwork, preparation, and collaboration remain at the heart of this effort.
