Thursday, 13th February 2025, ABS Television/Radio: An Air Canada commercial flight with 120 people on board made an emergency landing at V.C. Bird International Airport, (VCBIA) after developing mechanical problems. A full emergency was declared at the airport for the second time within 12 hours.

The plane had taken off from V.C. Bird Airport at 9pm and was 20 miles off Antigua when the pilots indicated they needed to return for an emergency landing.

This follows the emergency landing of an Amerijet cargo plane shortly before 11 this morning because of an issue with the flap on the aircraft.

ABS Television/Radio: An Amerijet cargo plane landed safely at V.C. Bird International Airport on Thursday morning, after its crew declared an emergency en route from Miami in the United States to St. Maarten.

Officials say a full emergency was declared at the Vere Cornwall Bird International Airport (VCBIA) as the plane encountered a problem with its flaps.

Several teams were in place within minutes in preparation for the emergency landing, which happened at 10:57 AM. Four people were on board the Boeing 767.
