ST JOHNS ANTIGUA, 4th January 2025 – The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Water Business Unit acknowledges a water quality issue identified earlier today, 4 January 2025, at the Fort James Reverse Osmosis Plant.

The issue involves higher-than-normal conductivity in the water transmitted from the facility. Our team has promptly initiated corrective measures, and normal operations are expected to resume later this afternoon.
We also remind customers that the ongoing season of high sea swells may intermittently impact the Fort James Plant’s operations due to elevated turbidity levels in the water supply.

Additionally, we are pleased to provide an update regarding the technical issues at the Crabbs Reverse Osmosis Plant. The plant is expected to resume operations by the end of today, Saturday, 4th January 2025.
While production and distribution will recommence promptly, please note that it may take approximately 48 hours for the distribution lines to fully normalise.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank our valued customers for their understanding and patience as we work diligently to resolve these matters.
