National Office of Disaster Services (NODS): This week, the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is partnering with USSOUTHCOM and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Global Institute for Community Health and Development to deliver a hazardous materials (Hazmat) training to strengthen national readiness ahead of Tradewinds taking place in June.

The program brings together a multidisciplinary team including the Royal Police Force, Antigua and Barbuda/ Fire Department, Defense Force, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and personnel from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) to build a shared response standard so agencies can coordinate confidently during real-world chemical incidents.

Participants receive Emergency Response Guides and hands-on Personal Protective Equipment training (donning/doffing), led by experienced Hazmat operators from South Florida.

Together, we’re enhancing preparedness to help responders act safely, efficiently, and in sync when it matters most.
