ST. JOHN’S Antigua, March 14th, 2026 – The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) wishes to advise the general public that a disconnection notice currently circulating on social media and messaging platforms, which claims that specific communities will face service disconnections, is fake and malicious.

While APUA did issue its routine monthly disconnection reminder for accounts that are 30 days or more past their due date, the official notice did not identify or target any specific communities. The communities referenced in the circulated notice are not part of any disconnection listing issued by the Authority.

APUA strongly condemns the creation and circulation of fake notices that may cause unnecessary concern or anxiety among customers. Individuals responsible for producing and sharing misleading information are urged to desist immediately from this practice.

Customers and members of the public are reminded to rely only on APUA’s official communication channels for accurate and verified information, including the Authority’s official website, verified social media pages, and APUA’s official WhatsApp Channel.

APUA remains committed to transparent communication with the public and thanks customers for their continued cooperation.
