Dale C. S. Destin – Antigua and Barbuda experienced another notably cold night, with minimum temperatures ranging between 14–23°C (57–73°F) across the country.
While such temperatures are not unprecedented, last night’s readings were near record-low levels, especially when viewed through the lens of long-term observations at the V. C. Bird International Airport.

Using the Airport as a Climate Proxy
Antigua and Barbuda does not yet have long-term temperature records from multiple inland and elevated locations. As a result, V. C. Bird International Airport—which has the longest continuous dataset—must be used as a proxy for historical comparison.

Using this dataset, temperatures observed last night and the night before, 18.1°C (65°F) and 18.8°C (66°F) respectively, place December 27 and 28 among the coldest on record, ranking as the second coldest for those dates at the Airport.
