ST JOHN’S ANTIGUA, 21st November 2025: The Antigua Public Utilities Authority is pleased to advise customers in Barbuda that our mechanical technicians have successfully completed repairs to the generator at the Barbuda Power Plant.

The unit is now back online, allowing us to cancel the previously implemented four hour load shedding cycles.

As we await the arrival and installation of the new generator for the Green Barbuda Solar Hybrid System, we will continue the routine switching cycle at 8:00 am and 3:45 pm for approximately twenty minutes.

This is necessary to maintain system balance until the upgraded generation capacity is fully in place.

APUA apologises once again to all affected customers and reassures the Barbuda community that we are working to resolve this generation challenge in the coming weeks.

We remain committed to strengthening the reliability of the island’s power supply.
