ST JOHNS ANTIGUA, 19th November 2025: The Antigua Public Utilities Authority wishes to provide an update to customers in Barbuda regarding ongoing power restoration efforts.

Our mechanical technicians are still working on the generator that experienced a failure at the Barbuda Power Plant. Despite steady progress, repairs are not yet complete and, unfortunately, load shedding will continue tonight.

The cycle will operate in four hour intervals to manage the limited generation capacity. A temporary generator is currently en route to Barbuda, and installation will begin right away upon arrival to support the system until the affected generator is restored.

Additionally, APUA has procured a new generator for the Green Barbuda Solar Hybrid System, which is the main power plant on the island.

Once integrated, this generator will restore full generation capacity at the facility and significantly improve the stability of the island’s power supply.

APUA understands that these outages have been difficult for customers and sincerely apologises for the inconvenience. Our team is focused on restoring service as soon as possible.

We solicit your patience and understanding as our teams work diligently to resolve this matter.
