Antigua and Barbuda High Commission UK: The Commonwealth Secretariat and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda have officially launched the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026 during a ceremony held at Sandals Grande Resort.

The event was jointly officiated by Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne, Commonwealth Secretary-General the Rt. Hon. Shirley Botchwey, and Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, CHOGM 2026 National Focal Point.
Attendees included Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams, senior government officials, diplomats, and members of the CHOGM 2026 Task Force — alongside youth ambassadors, NGOs, the differently-abled community, and representatives from across society, underscoring the Commonwealth’s commitment to inclusion and shared prosperity.

CHOGM 2026 will be held from November 1–4, 2026, under the theme: “Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth.”
During the launch, the official CHOGM 2026 logo was unveiled, designed by Ms. Chaneil C. Imhoff, whose artwork draws inspiration from Antigua and Barbuda’s national identity and the Commonwealth’s shared values.

Cricketing legend Sir Vivian Richards was also announced as the official CHOGM 2026 Envoy, supporting efforts to inspire participation and pride across Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Commonwealth.
Prime Minister Browne reflected: “Antigua and Barbuda is proud to open our doors to the Commonwealth in 2026 — to host, to listen, and to lead with purpose.”

Secretary-General Botchwey added: “Together, we are building bridges of opportunity to deliver tangible results for our citizens. CHOGM 2026 will accelerate progress and prosperity through shared investment, innovation, and inclusion.”
The vibrant launch ceremony, hosted by Jamila Kirwan, featured performances by the Hellsgate Steel Orchestra, Antigua Dance Academy, and UWI Five Islands Campus Singers, celebrating the nation’s rich culture and community spirit.

Antigua and Barbuda stands ready to welcome the world — and to lead the Commonwealth toward a future of unity, opportunity, and sustainable growth.
