The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) has deployed a 20-man Rapid Needs Assessment Team (RNAT)to Jamaica to support the country’s national response efforts following the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

The team under the Regional Response Mechanism (RRM), includes technical specialists from CDEMA, UNICEF, WFP, PAHO, CARILEC, and other regional and international partners.

They will work closely with the Government of Jamaica and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) to conduct multi-sectoral assessments and provide critical support in areas such as Health, Wash, Infrastructure, and Social Protection.

This coordinated regional response demonstrates the continued partnership and solidarity across the Caribbean in advancing a unified and effective approach to disaster response and recovery. The RNAT Deployment is being financially supported by the Caribbean Development Fund (CDF).
