Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross: The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society (ABRCS) Youth Commission hosted its first-ever Youth Leadership Retreat on September 20, 2025, under the theme “Ignite the Leader Within,” bringing together young people from across the nation for a full day of leadership training, team building, and personal growth.

The retreat featured dynamic presentations from respected leaders in education, communication, and disaster preparedness, as well as hands-on sessions in Psychological First Aid and decision-making.

Energizer activities and reflection moments kept participants engaged throughout, culminating in ABRCS President Dr. Jose V. A. Humphreys leading a powerful closing session and presenting certificates of participation.

The retreat also introduced the Youth Delegate Trainee program, a pioneering initiative designed to mentor emerging youth leaders for greater roles in humanitarian service nationally, regionally, and internationally.

Hailed as the start of a new chapter for the ABRCS Youth Commission—launched in 2024—the retreat underscored the Society’s commitment to cultivating a new generation of humanitarian leaders who are “Always First, Always Ready, Always There.”
