The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) wishes to advise the public of a temporary disruption to Amerijet’s scheduled cargo operations at V.C. Bird International Airport.

Amerijet’s ground handler, a privately owned entity, has reported that it is awaiting a replacement part for its main Deck Loader, a critical piece of equipment used in the safe and efficient unloading of cargo.

The delay in Amerijet service was directly related to the unavailability of this specialized equipment.

Amerijet plays a vital role in supporting both public and commercial cargo needs, and ABAA appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this brief interruption.

The ground handler has indicated that the replacement part was expected to arrive today, Wednesday. Once installed, the Deck Loader will be restored to full operational capacity, allowing for the resumption of regular cargo services.

ABAA continues to work closely with all stakeholders to facilitate a swift and seamless return to normal operations and thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.
