Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre: When 30-year-old diver Kemoy Roberts was rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) after a deep-sea dive went wrong, his future felt uncertain.

He faced severe decompression sickness—weakness, dizziness, hearing loss, and loss of mobility.
Through urgent oxygen therapy and two life-saving sessions in our Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, Kemoy began to regain strength. His journey isn’t over—next steps include rehabilitative care—but hope is firmly on the horizon.

For Kemoy’s mom, the journey has been emotional. She shared how difficult it was to see him after the incident, but now her heart is full of gratitude—for his progress and for the team that cared for him.

Special thanks to the Calvin Ayre Foundation, whose donation of the chamber makes stories like this possible. At SLBMC, this is more than medicine—it’s compassion, teamwork, and resilience in action. Together, we heal.
