FESTIVALS COMMISSION – Saturday, July 26, 2025, St. John’s, Antigua: The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission wishes to advise the public that the Carnival Parade was brought to an early close today due to an unexpected electrical issue that posed a potential safety hazard along the route.

In the interest of public safety, the Commission made the decision to suspend the remainder of the parade in accordance with our commitment to ensuring the well-being of all patrons, participants, and service providers.

This precautionary measure was taken in consultation with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) and Law Enforcement officials.

We understand the disappointment this may cause, but safety remains our top priority. The Commission extends its sincere gratitude to all masqueraders, bands, vendors, and spectators for their understanding and cooperation.

We also wish to thank the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda and all security personnel for their swift response and dedicated service in maintaining order and ensuring the safety of the city during today’s events.

Further assessments will be conducted to ensure that future events remain safe and enjoyable for all.
