BarbudanGO: BarbudanGO is deeply disturbed and disappointed by the recent defacement of one of Barbuda’s historic caves.

This act of vandalism is not only disrespectful but also a violation of our cultural heritage.

We want to make the following facts absolutely clear about our recent tour that we hosted on July 1st 2025 that:

• Our tour was led by Barbuda’s most respected tour guides — Calvin Gore and trail guide Berwin Webber.

• The tour maintained a strict supervision ratio of 3 students to 1 adult, with a team of 6 adults from BarbudanGO and 7 adults from Island Academy.

• Youth were never left alone in the cave or at any point during the tour. They were constantly supervised.

BarbudanGO takes health, safety, and historical preservation very seriously. We work hard to instill pride and respect in our young people for Barbuda’s natural and cultural treasures.

Whoever is responsible for this vandalism must be held accountable. Our heritage sites are not canvases — they are sacred spaces that deserve protection.
