ST JOHNS ANTIGUA, 31st December 2024 – Over the past few days, an engine at the Antigua Power Company (APC) power plant has experienced intermittent technical issues, causing it to trip offline several times.

As a result, some customers have experienced unplanned power interruptions.
The electricity grid is equipped with protective mechanisms designed to balance current generation with the customer load during sudden power loss. These mechanisms help prevent the grid from being overloaded.

APUA and APC remain committed to serving our valued customers with reliable and secure power. We want to assure the public that adequate generation is available on the grid.
Additionally, APC has implemented contingency measures to minimise generation outages and reduce the likelihood of similar occurrences.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by these interruptions and thank our customers for their patience and understanding.
