Dale C. S. Destin: As the summer months transition into the latter half of the year, Antigua and Barbuda enters its peak of the lightning season–September to October.

The lightning season spans from July to November. While this period brings much-needed rain, it also ushers in the dangers linked with lightning.
Understanding the risks and being prepared can help mitigate potential harm.

Definition of Lightning: Lightning is a sudden electrostatic discharge that occurs during a thunderstorm, resulting from the buildup and release of electrical energy between charged regions within clouds or between a cloud and the ground.
This discharge typically manifests as a visible flash of light and can occur within clouds (intra-cloud lightning), between clouds (cloud-to-cloud lightning), or between a cloud and the ground (cloud-to-ground lightning), the most dangerous.
