V.C. Bird International Airport: All systems are go, and we are cleared for takeoff. The new international airport on Barbuda is now in the hands of the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority.
The keys were handed over by the Managing Director of PLH, the developer, Justin Wilshaw to the Operations Manager of the Authority, Rex Daly.
The official opening of the facility will take place tomorrow morning, ushering in a new era of flight traffic between Antigua and its sister island.
Teams from the Airport Authority have been busy all day on the ground completing the final touches on every detail before the grand event and historic occasion.
