Ministry of Health & The Environment: Ten talented interns are currently working within various departments in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment to gain invaluable experience across various departments within the Ministry.

The interns will be contributing their skills and learning from the following departments:

  • Antigua Barbuda Emergency Medical Services
  • Central Board of Health
  • Department of Environment
  • Medical Benefits Scheme
  • Blue Economy
  • National Solid Waste Management Authority

In a welcoming ceremony, the interns had the honor of meeting with the Minister of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation, and the Environment, Sir Molwyn Joseph.

Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary Ena Dalso-Henry and Principal Assistant Secretary, Marsha Joseph, who expressed their enthusiasm and support for the program. The programme is taking place over an 8 week period.

Minister, Sir Molwyn Joseph emphasized the importance of hands-on experience in fostering the next generation of leaders in health and environmental sectors.

He stated, “This internship program is a vital part of our commitment to nurturing young talent and providing them with the opportunities to make significant contributions to our community. We are excited to see the positive impact these interns will have over the next two months.”

The internship program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Ministry’s operations, allowing interns to engage in various projects and initiatives that align with their academic and career interests.

This initiative not only supports the interns’ professional development but also enhances the Ministry’s efforts in addressing key health, environmental, and social transformation challenges.
