On July 2nd, 2024, the Antigua & Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) will deploy a team led by Commander D. Davis, serving as the Mission Deputy, alongside Sgt. Davis E. for the Caribbean Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU).
The ABDF will be supported by a four man team from the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda. These troops will embark aboard the SVG motor vessel Mulzark to St.Kitts before deploying.
The ABDF is also coordinating with NODS for transporting relief supplies to the affected Islands within the region.
Additionally , a security team from the ABDF will embark on a mission to Greneda , St. Vincent & the Grenadines to gather additional personnel before continuing to St. Vincent for disaster relief.
Lieutenant A. Jacobs will lead as the Contingent Commander , of the 18 ABDF members with support from Regional Security Systems troops.
Upon boarding the Bajan vessel, Trident ,the troops will be stationed in Barbados for onward deployment to islands affected by Hurricane Beryl within the region.
The ABDF plays a crucial role in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and regional security, collaborating closely with organizations such as CDEMA through NODS and RSS.
