Over seventy young men and women have commenced six months of basic police training at the Sir Wright F. George Police Academy Open Campus.

On Monday, June 10, 2024, a brief ceremony was held on-site at the former Navy Base to mark the opening. Several senior police officers, including the Director of Training and Commissioner of Police, Mr. Atlee Rodney were all in attendance.

Course #49\5 of 2024 consists of 59 males and 13 females, which will be attached to both regular and fire departments.

They will receive training in Criminal Law, Customer service, Military Drills, Physical and Mental Fitness, First Aid, Firefighting and Search and Rescue, and other subjects.

We take this opportunity to wish them success on their new journey and trust that the general public will support and encourage them to become excellent police officers.
